FISHING REPORT ARCHIVERating System:Good fishing: Not so good fishing: Current Fishing Report The fishing along the beach has slowed down a little the past day, but we still have reports of Spanish mackerel and bluefish on lures, a few black drum, a couple of puppy drum, small to keeper sized flounder, sea mullets, spot , croakers, and quite a few sharks. Stephen Kozlowski of Brewster, NY shared his photo of a 25” puppy drum with us yesterday. Fish OINC of Washington, VA caught a spadefish while fishing the South end of the island. Dan Moran of Centreville, VA shared his photos of Spanish mackerel. His son, Conor, caught and released a 40” shark and his son, Dylan, caught and released a large ray Saturday. Byron Miller of Ocracoke Harbor Inn shared his photo of Parker Gaskill of Ocracoke, NC who caught a nice Spanish in Blair channel Sunday afternoon. Bill Potts shared his photo of Troy, Rachael, and Billy Potts with their catch of triggerfish, Spanish, and bluefish on Friday while fishing inshore. The charter “Gecko” had a great day yesterday, catching a lot of triggerfish, several beeline snappers, a wahoo, and a sailfish. Colin Gilmore of Elon, NC shared his photo of the sailfish and Anna Rucker also of Elon, NC shared her photo with the 17 pound wahoo. Inshore reports continue to include nice catches of Spanish mackerel, bluefish, some flounder, small king mackerel at the inlet, a couple of cobia, and a few drum in the evening.
