Current Fishing Report

A beautiful sunny hot day on Ocracoke has plenty of people of the beach. Those fishing early this morning found plenty of nice Spanish mackerel and bluefish at the inlet on both lures and bait, sea mullets, some pompano, a couple of flounder, croakers, a few sharks, and a couple of puppy drum.
Andy Kennedy and Chip Watters of Virginia Beach, VA came in with a bucketful of 1.5 lb pompano that they caught this morning and posed with a couple of them for the site. “Fish OINC” of Washington, VA came by with a 24” Spanish mackerel caught on bait. Ike Riddick, Jr of Raleigh, NC also brought by a Spanish yesterday that he caught on bait. Todd Ghiosay of New Milford, NJ shared his photo of a 30” red drum caught on a Spanish buster lure. Jacob, Ben and Chad Loflin of Kernersville, NC came by with their Spanish and gray trout. Bill Potts was nice enough to email me the picture of his triggerfish from Teach’s Hole on Tuesday.
Inshore reports include Spanish mackerel, large drum in the evening, bluefish, flounder, sea mullet, and a few pompano.
Offshore reports include wahoo, gaffer dolphin, triggerfish, and black sea bass. Have fun fishing!
