FISHING REPORT ARCHIVERating System:Good fishing: Not so good fishing: Current Fishing Report We had another hot, sunny day on Ocracoke. We had reports of Spanish mackerel at south point in the AM, quite a few puppy drum scattered along the beach, bluefish, croakers, and spot. Bob and Nancy Sebrell of Kitty Hawk, NC came by this AM with a couple of Spanish from South Point. Sean Moran of Centreville, VA also had a nice 3.3 lb Spanish mackerel yesterday on his first cast. Roger and Kevin Campbell of Grottoes, VA caught their limit of Spanish and shared a couple of photos of some of the puppy drum they caught and released yesterday. Catherine and William Cavenaugh of Winston Salem, NC came by with croaker and spot, but William’s photo did not come out. Jim “Littleman” Corron of Salisbury, MD came by with his 23” puppy drum yesterday as well. Earl Younce of Avon Cottages and Motel in Avon, NC shared his photo of a nice Spanish he caught on a fly rod with 6 pound test on Friday. Inshore reports include lots of Spanish mackerel, bluefish, flounder , a few puppy drum, and a few triggerfish. Offshore reports wahoo and some triggerfish. Have fun fishing! Melinda Rating: |
