Current Fishing Report








Today was another beautiful beach day on Ocracoke, but hot. Those out fishing reported numerous spanish at South Point this AM along with bluefish, some sea mullets, and croakers. We had reports of puppy drum scattered along the beach with a couple of small schools coming by at South Point during the day. We also had a report of a 32" cobia caught and released at South Point.
Todd Camden of Allwood, VA caught a 30" red drum on a lure yesterday as well as a nice spanish mackeral at South Point. Amy Mayes of Roanoke, VA shared her photo of a 30" red drum caught at South Point yesterday. Rusty Peaks of Chester, VA and Ralph Almodovar of Virginia Beach, VA caught puppy drum at the airport ramp and shared their photo. Bill and Karl Rumschlag of Newport News, VA caught a 27" and 24" puppy drum yesterday afternoon and came by the shop for a photo. Jenn Buckley of Mount Airy, MD continued to break in her new rod and reel yesterday and caught a 24" puppy drum and numerous bluefish. Lynn Swett of Creswell, NC also had a nice puppy drum and came by the shop for a photo.
Inshore reports continue to include spanish mackeral, bluefish, flounder, sea mullets and an occaisonal cobia.
Offshore reports include triggerfish and wahoo.
