Current Fishing Report

South Point opened this morning finally since the tern fledged. Since then, we have had reports of bluefish, red drum and spanish mackeral caught in the surf on lures and bait. Plenty of small flounder, sea mullets, croaker, spot, and a few puppy drum are scattered up and down the beach.
Smitty of Cary, NC came by this AM with a couple of bluefish he caught right at the ramp of South Point. Devin Soracco of Milford, CT shared his photo of one of the spot he caught yesterday. JP "Bubba" Blakesley of Virginia Beach, NC had a double header of spot and sea mullet yesterday and shared his photo. Vassar Camden of Allwood, VA shared one of his bluefish photos this afternoon. Kevin Labor of Lynchburg, VA and Jaques Campbell of Elon, VA shared their photo of Friday evening of a 26" puppy drum and a spanish mackeral on bait! Jenn Buckley of Mount Airy, MD bought a new rod and reel and caught her first fish on it yesterday afternoon and caught ended up catching a few more. Dylan Esham of Ocracoke's Pony Island Motel came by with his impressive 2 lb 11 oz flounder caught Friday fishing inshore. Bill, Bill, and Billy of Falls Church, VA came by with their catch of spanish and bluefish from yesterday morning. Charles Planz of Havre de Grace, MD caught and released a citation 44" red drum while fishing inshore Friday afternoon.
