Current Fishing Report

Strong sw wind has kept the water a bit dirty and rough this weekend. Before the rough weather, we did have some nice fish caught on Friday afternoon. Catches included puppy drum, black drum, flounder, sea mullets, spots, and bluefish.
Mike Burch from Hartsville SC caught two very nice puppy drum, and Major Rhodes from Jacksonville NC had a nice black drum. Robert Strange from Jacksonville NC shared a photo of a nice stringer of sea mullets, spots, and bluefish - typical for mid summer surf fishing. Jake Warsavage had a nice flounder, and Rebecca Jackson and Jenny Prescott from Atlanta GA caught bluefish.
Inshore fishing has been focused on spanish mackerel the last couple of days, with most anyone that could get out to Blair channel catching several fish. A couple of puppy drum and scattered flounder have also been found inshore.
Not many have headed offshore with the rough surf and persistent thunderstorms. But fortunately we have some improving weather and this week looks good.
Have fun fishing!
Alan
