FISHING REPORT ARCHIVERating System:Good fishing: Not so good fishing: Current Fishing Report Much needed light rain showers have moved in this afternoon on Ocracoke, but the past few days have produced catches on the beach in close for sea mullets, bluefish, flounder, grey trout,a few scattered puppy drum, croakers,spanish on lures, and pompano. Andrew, Patrick, and Christopher Clark of Sims, NC came by this morning for an offical weight in of sea mullet, spot, and pompano. Patrick becomes our kids derby leader for his 5.8 oz spot. Lee Winstead of Washington, NC went out on Jason's "Piece of Mind" last night and caught a nice 21" puppy drum. Ella Avery of Woodstock, GA had a nice 1 lb 11 oz flounder yesterday afternoon and shared her photo. Luke Hooper of Lake Toxaway, NC and his brother started their vacation with a couple of nice speckled trout. Luke becomes our kids derby leader for his 1 lb 9 oz fish. Gerrit Vanstaalovinen of Terraceia, NC came by with his 1 lb 10 oz flounder caught Saturday. Will Stuart of Winston Salem, NC came by with his 1 lb 3 oz pompano he caught on shrimp. Terry Smith of Troutman, NC and Zach Little of Mooresville, NC brought by some nice sea mullets Saturday. Amanda and Spencer Gaskins of Ocracoke, NC went fishing inshore and caught some nice sea mullets and pompano Saturday. Amanda becomes our kids derby leader for her 1.5 lb pompano. Dylan Esham of Ocracoke's Pony Island, stays on as our kids derby leader for his 1 lb 2 oz grey trout Saturday. Josh Insogna of Ocracoke, NC shared his photo of his puppy drum from earlier in the week with us. Holt and Kenny Kendall along with Patrick and Walt went out on a "Drumstick" charter Saturday and caught plenty of dolphin and tuna.(Sorry the whole catch is not in the photo) Inshore reports include spanish mackerel, some flounder, sea mullets, and pompano.
