FISHING REPORT ARCHIVERating System:Good fishing: Not so good fishing: Current Fishing Report We are finally seeing more folks today getting to the island for the holiday weekend. With more folks with hooks in the water, we have more reports of sea mullets, bluefish, flounder, puppy drum, and small sharks on the beach. Andrew Paduch of Ocracoke, NC caught a nine pound spadefish this afternoon on the beach using a grub. Makayla Burkett of Newark, DE came by with her 1# 7 oz flounder this afternoon. Chip Stevens of Blackbeard's Lodge came by with his puppy drum yesterday. Christine Marly and Bob Karaska of Baltimore, MD came by wit their grey trout before heading home. John Kattenburg of Ocracoke, NC becomes our derby leader for his 3 lb 14 oz flounder caught at the North end on a grub. Josh Vann of Ocracoke, NC caught a 26" puppy drum and came by for his photo. Thomas Etheridge of Murfreesboro, TN came by with a 6.5 oz croaker. Jake Allen of Asheville, NC came by with a nice 2 pound pompano. Timothy Volkman of Pittstown, NJ came by with his grey trout. Chris England of High Point, NC caught a 35# amberjack and came by for a photo. Inshore reports include flounder, puppy drum, and spanish mackerel. Offshore reports include dolphin and wahoo.
