Another sunny day on Ocracoke with reports of a couple of larger red drum caught on the beach, keeper sized flounder, small bluefish, sea mullets, and croakers.
Dylan Esham of Pony Island Motel on Ocracoke becomes our kids' derby leader for his 6 oz croaker today. Tyler Hegamyer of Frederick, MD shared his photo of his 37" red drum from yesterday. Brent Harvel and Colin Williams of Richmond, VA caught some nice flounder yestedray and came by for their photo. Maggie Keaney of Monroe, MI also had soem nice flounder and shared her photo. Josh Newhard of Annapolis, MD emailed his photo from Friday of a porgy he caught at the North end with flounder, samll blues, and a black drum. Dyland and Daymon Esham of the Pony Island Motel on Ocracoke were fishing inshore and caught grey trout with Dylan becoming our kids derby leader for his 12 oz trout. Alston and Hunter Belch of Ocracoke went out with Wayne Blech charters inshore Saturday and caught spanish mackerel. Alston becomes our kid's derby leader for his impressive 5.5 lb spanish mackerel.
