Not so good fishing:
Current Fishing Report
We have had light showers off and on this morning and yesterday keeping some folks off the beach. The showers offshore have stirred up the surf pretty much with 7-8 oz needed to hold bottom in some places this AM. Those out fishing found sea mullets, some puppy drum scattered, a few pompano, some keeper flounder, and spanish mackerel at the North end of the island.
Christy Eubank of Ramseur, NC came by with her 24" puppy drum yesterday afternoon. Chris Brackin of Minnesott Beach, NC emailed in his photo of his first large red drum at 35". He caught it on my favorite set up-a pompano rig with shrimp. Scott Hilliard of Luray, VA stays on as our derby leader for sea mullet by topping his previous fish by 3 more ounces. His family caught their limits of spanish mackerel at the North end casting stingsilvers Thursday afternoon. Bert Clark of Edward's of Ocracoke and Alan shared their photo of Tuesday's catch of dolphin, wahoo, and kings.
Have fun fishing!
