FISHING REPORT ARCHIVERating System:Good fishing: Not so good fishing: Current Fishing Report With the excellent weather that we have had, it seems a shame that so few folks are here to enjoy it. But the two weeks after Memorial Day are the slowest of the summer -remember that if you are trying to decide when to plan a trip down. The fishing is usually starting to transition at this time from the larger red drum and large bluefish to the summer fish- pompano, smaller bluefish, flounder, black drum, croakers, and puppy drum as the water warms up on the beach. Those few lucky folks that are here fishing found scattered puppy drum, bluefish, a few pompano, and keeper flounder. Rose Fried of Plumboro, PA shared her photo of a nice red drum she released yesterday. Sue Defazim of Zekenople, PA also shared her photo from Sunday of a bluefish she caught. Hunter Walker of Urbanna, VA almost had a citation pompano with his 1 pound 13 oz fish Sunday afternoon. BJ Swain of Ocracoke,NC came by with his 56 pound cobia he caught inshore Sunday. Inshore reports include some spanish, bluefish, and flounder. Offshore reports continue to include nice catches of dolphin and some wahoo. Alan is out with Bert trying his luck today. Have fun fishing! Melinda Rating: |
