Current Fishing Report

We finally have a really nice day today for folks to head out to the beach to fish. The wind has calmed to 10mph from the NE and we are sunny at 70 degrees. Those out fishng this morning reported small bluefish, some large blues, several sea mullets, and a couple of pompano. The ocean still is stirred up from the wind the past few days, so many are using heavier weights to keep from drifting to much. We are expecting the winds to stay fairly calm and switch out of the ESE/SE tomorrow through Saturday evening.
Jon Albertson of Denton, NC came by this morning with his 8 pound bluefish for a photo. Capt. Ernie Doshier of "DrumRunner" took an inshore charter out in the winds on Tuesday to find puppy drum and a 45" red drum. George Hunsucker of Stokesdale, NC was nice enough to email his photo of a 10 pound bluefish from Saturday to us.
Thanks for the photos!
Have fun fishing!
Melinda
