Current Fishing Report

Beautiful water, clear, green, SW winds, warm temps, and sunny-why are we not all out fishing? Those that are out on the beach yesterday and today found large bluefish on lures and cut bait, sea mullets scattered up and down the beach, a few black drum, and spanish mackerel in the inlet in the morning and early evening.
Bill Mountcastle of Mount Pleasant, SC shared his photo of a nice bluefish from yesterday. Cyrus Israel of Pinehurst, NC also shared his photo of a nice bluefish. Jackie Davis of Laurel, DE had a nice 30" bluefish and said 'hello to Andy'. Eugene Bridges of Raleigh, NC had another 32" bluefish today and shared his photo with us. Jack Barringer of Gold Hill, NC came in with his 10 lb 4 oz bluefish and became our new derby leader. Then Harvey Morris of Concord, NC came in and shared his bluefish which weighed the same- so they are coleaders in the bluefish derby. "Kentucky Steve" of Shelbyville, KY came by with one of his spanish mackerel he caught today. Chris Colgate of Ocracoke, NC came by with his 9 lb bluefish yesterday evening. Henry Frazer of Oriental,NC and Scott Swing of Lexington, NC shared their bluefish for a phot this afternoon. Craig Smith, who was fishing with them, lost a large cobia in the wash due bluefish nicks in the line- pretty disappointing. Captain Norman Miller of the "Rascal" shared his photos of bluefish and red drum that John Tice and David Sager of Cape May, NJ caught this morning.
Inshore reports included bluefish and redfish by sight casting, sea mullets, and grey trout.
Captain Doshier of "Gecko" had a nice catch of gaffer dolphins offshore today.
Have fun fishing!
Melinda
