Current Fishing Report

The last couple of days we have had pretty strong winds blowing out of the SW making it tough to fish yesterday. This morning was a little better, but the winds were still gusting fairly high throughout the day. Those that did make it out on the beach to fish found some bluefish small to large, a couple of black drum, and a few large drum after sunset. Later today we also know that spanish mackerel and a couple of big bluefish were caught on lures at the south end of the island.
Ron Zeunen of Wilmington, NC shared his photos of a couple of nice large bluefish he caught on bunker yesterday with us. Susan and Joel Coert of Charlotte, NC (with Wylie) shared their photos of bluefish and a nice 20" black drum they caught Friday. They had a great day on the beach catching over 30 fish in the spot they were in during the day. Bryan Cheek was nice enough to email his 33" bluefish photo to us when he returned home. Harald Arvin of Tean Ocrajokers was fishing Wednesday night before the tournament with his team members and caught a large red drum and shared his photo. Kirby Smitherman of Boonville, NC had a nice 31" bluefish and emailed his photo to us. Randy Smith of Ontario, Canada had a 26" puppy drum while vacationing last week and shared his photo with us.
Inshore yesterday was tough with the winds, but we did hear of nice catchs of sea mullets today at Teach's Hole.
Thanks so much for all the photos and have fun fishing!
Melinda
