Current Fishing Report

Those fishing today found some bluefish scattered along the beach- a few larger sized, small to keeper sized flounder, and sea mullets. Those fishing inshore found numerous puppy drum and large red drum as well as a couple of cobia.
Chris Mercer of Team Daiwa in the Ocracoke Invitational Fishing Tournament caught a 51.5" red drum on a spoon in the tournament yesterday, helping them win the overall this afternoon. Daniel Sumrall of Greensboro, NC shared his photo of a 20" flounder he caught yesterday. Anthony Reeder, also of Greensboro,NC had a flounder and a couple of bluefish yesterday. Will Sage of Newport News, VA had a 16" flounder and shared his photo with us as well. The "Drumstick" went out on charter yesterday and caught dolphin, amberjack, a couple of wahoo and a cobia before coming in. Sara Clark of Edwards of Ocracoke shared her amberjack photo with us today while out in the boat. Bert Clark,also of Edwards of Ocracoke,had a nice time out on the water yesterday and caught a 44 pound cobia while fishing in the inlet.
