Current Fishing Report

The weather is just like early summertime-sunny, mid 70s, mild winds out of the SW, not a cloud in the sky. Those fishing this morning and yesterday reported sea mullets, croakers, spot, some slot limit puppy drum, small and large bluefish, a couple of large red drum, and numerous cow nose rays scattered up and down the beach. The water temp yesterday morning was at 66 degrees so I am sure it is a little higher today with the warm winds.
Tyler Payne of Salisbury, NC becomes our kid's derby leader for his 8 lb 10 oz bluefish today. Jim Mixon of Wilmington, NCc shared his photo from last evening at sunset of a 51" red drum (28" girth) caught on bunker. Mike Lane of Charlotte, NC had a 7 lb 14 oz bluefish last night and came by this morning for a photo. Randy Smith of Roanoke, VA shared his bluefish photo with us. Avery Trent also of Roanoke, VA shared her photo a puppy drum from yesterday.
Thanks for the photos and have fun fishing!
Melinda
