Those folks out fishing today and yesterday are finding bluefish 16"-20" on lures and bait in numerous quanities, puppy drum in the slot limit as well as a few large red drum on the South End of the island.
Sean Spain of Smith Mountain Lake, VA shared his photo of a nice 29" red drum yesterday. Wiliam Dekker of Cheasapeake, VA released a beautiful 49" red drum and shared his photo with us. Joe "SilverBullet313" Hands came by on his way home for a photo of a nice puppy drum he caught yesterday. Lance Brown of Cornelius, NC and Rodney Brown of East Bend, NC shared photos of some of the bluefish they caught on lures as well as bottomrigs before heading home. Roland Ammons, Wendy, Reese,and Brandon Blalock chartered "Drumstick" with Capt Farris O'Neal on Tuesday and caught amberjack, king mackerel and some black sea bass.
