FISHING REPORT ARCHIVERating System:Good fishing: Not so good fishing: Current Fishing Report After Thursday's offshore fishing trip I stayed in and worked Friday. But I did make it out late in the afternoon and was able to get a photo of Ralph and Charma Casey from Ocracoke with a couple of nice puppy drum. Also pictured is David Scott Esham (with son Daymon) from the Pony Island Motel, and Chip Stevens from Blackbeard's Lodge. Chip reported that he had caught several slot sized drum. All were fishing with either grubs or jerk baits on lead heads. Water temperature had climbed to about 55 degrees with the pretty weather on Friday. The weather turned very bad over the weekend, with two days of steady rain turning to snow today. Although we have not had any accumulation, it is cold and wet with a 15-20mph NE wind. I do not know of anyone trying to fish in the lousy conditions. The weather forecast for the end of the week looks good, so hopefully the water will warm back up and turn the puppy drum bite back on for us. Have fun fishing! Alan Rating: |
