Those out fishing yesterday reported puppy drum, black drum, numerous sea mullets, small bluefish, and puffer fish. Most were caught scattered up and down the beach.
Larry Toney of Nashville, NC had a 21" puppy drum yesterday and shared his photo with us. Steve Toney of Walstonburg, NC also shared his photo of a nice 25" puppy drum from yesterday. Randy Barrows of Ocracoke, NC had a 23" puppy drum and a 16" flounder while out yesterday. Charlie Young of Fairfax, VA had a 27" puppy drum Monday morning and we got his photo while he was at the shop. Maureen Clause of Ocean City, NJ went out with Capt Ernie Doshier of "Gecko" charters and caught a 48", 44 pound, red drum on 6 pound test trying for the potential IGFA women's 6 lb test category and is trying again today with 4 lb test.
