Yesterday morning there were some black drum, puppy drum, and bluefish caught on the beach as the surf started to get rough, but the fishing did drop off in the afternoon as the surf and winds kicked up. This morning has continued to be tough on the beach but we hope to see the weather turn around tomorrow afternoon so we can get back out there at least on Thursday.
Mike Denniston of Wilmington, NC shared his photo of a double hook up with us before heading home today. Saki Kwon of Springfield, VA came by with his black drum caught on shrimp. Jeff Goldman of Greensboro, NC, Warren Holshouser of Charlotte, NC, and Paul Mowery of Oak Ridge, NC had a great day Sunday morning and caught flounder, black drum, puppy drum, trout, sea mullets, and bluefish. Mark Perkinson of Reidsville, NC sent us his photo of his 25" puppy drum from Saturday. Bennett Montgomery of Raleigh, NC caught a puppy drum while inshore Sunday. Kim and Jamie Roberts of Chapel Hill, NC caught king mackerel and false albacore while fishing Sunday. Ralph and Linda Whiteman of Winchester, KY and Butch Bryan of Ocraoke, NC went out with Capt Ronnie O'Neal of "Miss Kathleen" Saturday and caught amberjack, grouper, snapper, and black sea bass.
Have fun fishing!
Melinda
