With the front coming through yesterday, we received rain throughout the day. Today the rain was gone, but we had stong NE winds gusting up to 35 mph throughout the day making it a little tough to fish on the beach. Those out fishing reported bluefish, some sea mullets, and puffer fish. Tomorrow, we expect the winds to calm and the day to be sunny- so we hope to see the fishing improve Monday.
Jim Newhard of Wilmington, DE brought by one of his bluefish Saturday for a quick photo. MOna Myers,"Flounder Lady", of Dryden, VA caught a nice 30" red drum Friday night and shared her photo with us yesterday. Capt Norman Miller of "Rascal" charters shared some more great photos from yesterday with us. Vince Mueller, John Popavich, and Andrew Plenge, of Long Beach, NJ, went out for a great day inshore, catching and releasing over 30 large drum. They started out using light tackle because the baitfish were crashing on the top of the water and they thought it was albacore, until Andrew hooked up with his 46" red drum. While sight casting to the drum, Vince picked up a king mackerel that was trailing the drum school. Pretty much a great day that the rest of us hope and dream for...
Have fun fishing!
Melinda
