With this beautiful summerlike weather today, the fishing has become very similiar to what you see in the summer. Bluefish, sea mullets, scattered puppy drum, small pompano, several flounder, and an occaisonal larger drum.
Graham Hegamyer of Southern Tail Charters in Charleston, SC had a 42.5" red drum late Monday night and shared his photo with us yesterday before heading back home. Davis Jenkins of Charleston, SC also shared his photo of a 25" puppy drum. Woody Billings of Ocracoke, NC shared a beautiful sunset and puppy drum photo with us from Monday evening. John Vickory of Newport, NC and fishing with the Mullet Man Tournament shared his photo of a 28" red drum from yesterday afternoon. "Big Drummy" oldest son, Julien Weatherford of Whittier, NC had his photo made with a pompano and bluefish he caught yesterday. Cindy Aherron of Providence, NC had a nice 24" puppy drum yesterday and came by for her photo. Robert Stutts of Reidsville, NC had a 16" flounder shortly after heading out yesterday. Melody Jefferson of Laurel, DE had a one pound sea mullet yesterday and stopped by the store. Randy Barrows of Ocracoke, NC had a 16" flounder early in the morning yesterday. Bert Clark of Edwards of Ocracoke had a citation speckled trout yesterday and shared his photo with us. Capt Norman Miller of "Rascal" shared a couple more photos from yesterday of a some citation drum. Richard Wecsler and Dee Kirkpatrick had several nice red drum from 42" to 51" while out with Norman.
Inshore reports include small and large red drum, grey trout, and speckled trout.
