Fishing Report
After rain showers passed through the past day and this morning due to the remains of Tropical Storm Fay, we are finally seeing some sun breaking through the clouds. With spotty showers and the week before Labor Day weekend, we just have not had many folks out on the beach fishing.
Those few out report numerous bluefish, quite a few flounder, sea mullet, and an occaisonal black drum.
Marie Riddick of Ocracoke, NC had a nice 18" flounder Monday out on the beach. Capt. Ronnie O'Neal of the "Miss Kathleen" shared his photo of a great 1/2 day charter with Jonah, Keegan, and Zack of southeast PA. They caught trout, bluefish, and flounder while fishing inshore. Chuck Saunders of Ocracoke caught five speckled trout, keeping two, while fishing inshore Monday. Ralph and Greg Hartlaub of Cleveland, OH caught a 20 lb African pompano Monday while offshore fishing. Jason Daniels of Ocracoke went out on Tuesday and caught several speckled trout and a flounder on Mirrolures.
Inshore fishing includes puppy drum, speckled trout, and flounder.
Have fun fishing!
Melinda
