Fishing Report
We are still seeing the large and small bluefish scattered up and down the island, numerous sea mullets, some puppy drum, several flounder, and some black drum even though we lost access to the beach at the South end of the island yesterday afternoon due to a piping plover nest. We are very fortunate to have some nice holes up and down the beach to fish.
Jim Snead of Crewe, VA had a 33" bluefish that he released yesterday afternoon. Alton Rouse of Newport, NC came by with his bluefish and nice puppy drum. Nathan Wright of Hickory, NC shared his photo of a large bluefish that he caught. John and Ian Freeze of Harrisburg, NC went out for a couple of hours and caught some large bluefish and sharks yesterday. Happy Birthday early Ian! Catherine Trimarchi of Ocracoke, NC also had a nice bluefish after heading out yesterday afternoon. Jim Braack of Wilmington,DE shared a photo of his bluefish from yesterday. Henry McCormick of Hopewell, VA had a nice black drum caught on shrimp yesterday afternoon.
