Fishing Report
Wow- In one day with the right winds and temperature, the fishing is on for the best fishing so far this year. The weather was gorgeous and offered many people sunburns. The fish caught were lots of black drum, puppy drum, bluefish, and a few sea mullets.
Luke Newton of Scottsville,VA had a nice puppy drum and bluefish this afternoon. Danny and Debbie Boyette of Rocky Mount,NC and Terry and Gail Murray of Kenly, NC each had their keeper puppy drum and released several others this afternoon. Larry Taylor of Blades,DE, Cliff Taylor of Bishopville, MD, and Roy and Tyler Case of Berlin,MD shared a photo of only some of the black drum they caught this afternoon on shrimp. Tommy Youngblood of New Bern, NC becomes our derby leader with his sea mullet caught today. Harry Shank from Palm Desert, CA had lots of bluefish yesterday caught using frozen finger mullet. Libby Myers of Graham, NC had a 26" puppy drum yesterday and stopped by to share her photo.
We also heard that Capt Doshier of the "Drum Runner" had a nice 38" red drum out in the inlet this morning.
Have fun fishing!
Melinda
