The puppy drum stayed on the beach for a couple more days as the warm weather warmed the surf into the low to mid-50's. Tony Page, Chip Stevens, and Tom Atherton from Ocracoke all were catching fish Saturday afternoon on gold Hopkins. Ed Foley from Jacksonville NC also caught a nice puppy drum on bait. I was the only one braving the stiff west wind yesterday. I managed to hook two puppy drum and then lose them in the wash.
Northwest wind today has ended the bite, but I expect we'll be out there trying again on the next light sw warm spell.
