Chip gave me a call yesterday at lunchtime, just past high tide, to report birds feeding on the beach. Unfortunately, the action moved just off the beach as Chip pulled up, so we don't know for sure what was driving the small fish up. When I got there a couple of gulls were still feeding on small black drum that were trying to escape from something.
Water temp yesterday was around 50-52 degrees.
Although the sun is shining and it's a beautiful day, the surf is still churned up from the front that passed through this morning. I took a picture of the beach and the lighthouse from southpoint road to post today. Maybe we'll find some fishing action in the next couple of days.
