Surf fishing reports for today include numerous puppy drum on lures and bait, small bluefish, and a few speckled trout on lures.
Tommy Pickett of Durham, NC had a nice citation speckled trout today on the beach caught on a Hopkins lure. Dave Colson of Woodville, NJ was lucky enough to have Sara Warren of Ocracoke on the beach taking his photo on Sunday to capture his nice puppy drum. Later, she took a photo of her husband, Brian, with a nice drum caught on mullet. Bill Shaw of Painter, VA had a great 30# striper on Sunday and stopped by the store for a photo.

We are having a difficult time finding fresh bait here on the island as many of the commerical guys have pulled in their nets or boats for repair work. If you are heading this way, please call, or stop on the way before you get to the island and buy some menhaden for striper fishing.
