We still have only a few people out fishing on the beach, but the weather was beautiful. Those few out fishing reported puppy drum, small bluefish, a few black drum, lots of skates and rays. Oh yeah- and at dead low tide- middle of the lunch hour, a very nice striper from the beach.( I hate that we are going to the tackle show with this gorgeous weather and fish on the beach...)
Brant Massey of Durham, NC was tasked with the job of getting me a fish for the report and he delivered a citation striper still flipping while I was trying to pack. He takes the lead on our derby board. Lanier Smith and Ned Bull, both of Kernersville, NC have spent a good week fishing here and came by today with their matching puppy drum caught on shrimp.
Jason will be at the store 8am-1pm while we are out-and have fun fishing!
