Surf fishing reports for yesterday afternoon and today improved dramatically along with the weather. There were reports of numerous puppy drum, bluefish, black drum, spot, sea mullets, speckled trout, pufferfish, and some skates.
Kurt Eckel of Black Mountain, Nc had a nice puppy drum caught on mullet. Brant Massey of Durham also had a puppy drum yesterday evening. Ralph Whiteman of Winchester, KY had a great afternoon on the beach and caught a puppy drum. Jason Daniels of Ocracoke, NC also went out on the beach yesterday evening and caught his limit of speckled trout on Mirrolures. Skip Hevener of Creedmoor, NC had a great day catching puppy drum - catching some as double headers- and releasing all but one. David Eure of Suffolk, VA also had a nice puppy drum yesterday evening. Mike Sizemore of Candler, NC had puppy drum yesterday on cut mullet. Danny Stancil of Smithfield, NC and Earl Barnes of Clayton, NC were aable to catch two at a time also, each releasing one.
