Surf fishing reports continued to improve yesterday and we have more folks going out this morning to try the fishing as the winds are out of the SW at 5 to 10 mph. The water is still a little rough and most are using 6-8 oz of weight. The reports for yesterday include quite a few puppy drum, flounder, small bluefish, scattered black drum, a few sheepshead, and several large drum.
Michael Hudgins of Browns Summit, NC had a citation 50" red drum yesterday afternoon. Jeff Saunder of Fayetteville, NC had a citation 49" drum last night. We also had a nice photo of a sheepshead from yesterday. Taylor Williams of Columbia, SC had a nice puppy drum yesterday. John Sutton also of Columbia, SC had a nice puppy drum and a grey trout. Willie Holhouser of Greensboro, NC had a puppy drum on Saturday as well. We have a few boats going out today so hopefully we will have some inshore reports for you later today or in the morning.
