Surf fishing reports would be higher except for the grass that comes and goes on the beach. But those that are finding holes and breaks in the bar up and down the beach are catching puppy drum, speckled trout, bluefish, a few black drum, and large red drum at the inlets.
Bryon Hollar of Hickory, NC caught a nice 47" red drum. Jason Daniels of Ocracoke, NC also caught a great drum this morning about 4:30am on cut mullet. Jonathan Kimrey of Wilmington, NC had a 46" red drum this morning. Chad Estridge of Sanford, NC caught a citation drum as well this morning.Cory Yoder of Hickory, NC caught a puppy drum this morning. James Taylor of Parkersburg, WV had a 32" red drum this morning. The group from Wilmington, NC each caught their puppy drum this morning and released a couple nmore before coming in for lunch. Rich Armstrong caught a nice puppy drum on cut mullet this morning. Art Fawcett of Greensburg, PA had a 26" puppy drum and stopped by for his photo. Betty Ketner of Kannapolis, NC had a 22" puppy drum this afternoon.
