Surf fishing reports for today slowed due to the heavy rain early this morning and the grass moved in shortly after. Those that moved around and used heavier weights found some bluefish, sea mullets, several flounder, a few scattered puppy drum and pompano.
AW Webb of Catawba, VA had a nice 47" drum on finger mullet yesterday. Ted McNeill of BBQ Creek, NC "finally was on vacation" after a quick run up the beach and caught a nice puppy drum. Chris Bostick of Belmont, NC had a three pound flounder on cut bait yesterday. Brandon Ayers of Summerfield, NC had a nice 29" puppy drum. Keith Powers of Todd, NC also had a nice red drum yesterday. Mike Colby of Charlestown, PI had a puppy drum on mullet yesterday. George Turner also caught a 27" drum on mullet and released a 29" and 31" red drum. Robert Buckman of Arlington, VA caught a 48" drum around 6 PM yesterday. Ray Satterfield of West Union, SC had a couple of red drum yesterday as well. Jason Daniels caught a 46" red drum this morning about 1 AM on mullet before the rain came in.
