Surf fishing reports for today include, large drum, puppy drum, sea mullets, bluefish, and pompano. There was still some grass, but much better than previous weeks. Iron Will Kelly of Big Stone Gap, VA had a beautiful 47" red drum this morning. Rick Rowe had a 45" drum this morning, but did not have his camera with him. Mark Ausin of Charlotte, NC had a nice drum late last night. Robert Kelly of Dryden, NC had some nice sized bluefish yesterday. Willis Hudson and Dale Puritt of Berlin, MD had nice puppy drum this morning caught on mullet. Jamey Hayes of Haw River, NC had a citation pompano caught on shrimp yesterday afternoon. Thurston Jolly of New Bern, NC had a nice puppy drum caught on shrimp yesterday. Nelson Swicegood of Lexington, NC also had a puppy drum yesterday afternoon caught on finger mullet. Susan and Chuck Heim of New Bern, NC had numerous bluefish up to 3.8 pounds.Mark Austin also shared other photos of his puppy drum with us. Ralph Routh of Pawley's Island, SC had a beautiful 20" flounder yesterday. Justin Chapman of Winchester, VA shared his photos of a puppy drum and a 50" red drum caught inshore on Vera Cruz shoal. Jim McEwen of Hamlet, NC and Gay Shultz of Dallas, NC had a great charter out with Wayne Belch today with their limit of puppy drum, several grey trout and bluefish.
Inshore reports include large drum, pompano, puppy drum and grey trout. Offshore we have reports of king mackerel.
