Surf fishing reports for today improved over yesterday with the rain showers that came through late last night. Those who moved around the grass and found holes on the beach scored puppy drum, bluefish, sea mullet,and pompano. we also heard of several 33" drum and one 45" drum last night. The weather today was beautiful and sunny after last nights rain.
Wesley Stewart came by the store this afternoon with dad for his photo of a great puppy drum. Duncan Patterson of Greensboro, NC had a 25" drum on cut mullet. Jim Clayton and Joanne Foil of Chapel Hill had a nice bluefish and puppy drum on mullet also. Larry Kornegay and Bill Godwin of Mt Olive, NC had several drum late yesterday evening, a 32",35" and 45" as well as these puppy drum. Adrian Carper of Ramseur, NC had a 22" puppy drum earlier today. Don Garrison of Goose Creek, SC and Charlie Haneman of Mrytle Beach, SC had a catch of sea mullet and bluefish for a photo. Dan Jawosky, John Caldwell , and Darrell Willson of Hickory, NC posed with their puppy drum and bluefish today at the store. Amber Vanalstine, Lindsay Coker, George Dickinson,and Lee Cherwek had a nice catch of puppy drum and bluefish this afternoon. Jake Peebles of Chesapeake, VA had some bluefish and sea mullets this morning that he weighed in at the store. Paul Jenkins of Mcleansville, NC had a 24" puppy drum yesterday afternoon. Anne Dempsey of Wilson, NC had a citation sea mullet while fishing yesterday afternoon.
