Surf fishing reports include puppy drum, a few larger drum in the evening, bluefish, sea mullets, and spots.
The baitfish are so thick in the water they are bumping into your legs in spots up and down the beach and the bluefish are following them. The grass has cleared up from last week although there still is some out in the inlets.
Justin Francis of Kings Mt, NC had a nice 31.5" drum Friday night. Henry Maynor and Nan Craven, both of Asheboro, NC shared their photos of drum on the beach. Steve Apple of Gibsonville,NC caught a shark while fishing with mullet Friday night. Jason Daniels of Ocracoke, NC caught a citation drum while fishing in the sound.
Inshore reports include numerous large drum released, speckled trout, and puppy drum.
Offshore reports include king mackerel and amberjack.
