Surf fishing reports for today include flounder, scattered puppy drum, sea mullet, bluefish and the occasional big drum.
Steve Martin of Swansboro, NC had a 47" red drum last night about 10 PM. Gary Armour of Elkton, MD, also had a big drum last night on cut mullet.
Buddy Pace of Clayton, NC had a 32" puppy drum on spot ("drum candy")yesterday. Darryl Shively of Ferrum, VA stopped by for his photo of a nice 22" puppy drum. Steve Jones of Lattimore, NC also had a nice drum of 23" today.
Joseph Harrill of Reidsville, NC had flounder today and shared his photo with us. Eddie Callahan of Shelby, NC caught a nice flounder yesterday.Inshore, on "Miss Kathleen" the Schulmans of Columbus,OH and the Stalls of Chapel Hill,NC had a great time releasing 18 citation drum today.
We have also heard that the false albacore, spanish, and king mackerel are hanging at the sea buoy in the inlet the past few days. We are currently having heavy runs of finger mullet out of the sound to the inlet.
