FISHING REPORT ARCHIVERating System:Good fishing: Not so good fishing: Don't forget your coastal fishing license! Surf fishing reports for today include bluefish, sea mullets, and small flounder. Others reported seeing some spanish mackerel at the south end. Jake reported catching some sea bass at the north end while wading last night. The water is still a little warm at 76 degrees today. The grass appears to be getting better at the north end of the island and hope it clears out soon from the sound and south end. Marshall McCoy of Chapel Hill, NC did catch and release a 51" cobia on the beach at the South end of the island yesterday afternoon around 4 PM on cut bait. Jamie Cass and Darrell Thompson of Winston Salem, NC had a great morning gigging flounder today catching their limit with the largest being 10.3 pounds. Jason Daniels of Ocracoke finally got his boat out today and caught some nice speckled trout. Inshore reports included speckled trout and a few puppy drum. Have fun fishing! Melinda Rating: |
