The surf fishing seems to have improved today with reports of numerous puppy drum and a few larger drum (32")as well as bluefish, sea mullets and croaker. There is still plenty of grass in the water but the winds have subsided from yesterday.
Mike Kader of Rochester, NY had a 25" puppy drum this morning from the North end of the island. Delmar Howard of Fairview, NC had a 26" puppy drum as well this morning. Dickie Vinent also caught a nice puppy drum while inshore fishing using a "Gulp" nuclear chicken bait. Four year year Kristen Clodgo used her little pink princess combo to catch her first fish last week (released) and proud grand dad asked if we could post this for her.
