The fishing is about the same today as yesterday- still some grass and NE winds but we are expecting the winds to shift late tonight and get some rain so hopefully that will move some of this grass out of the way. Those that did fish and waited out the breaks in the grass found bluefish, croaker, sea mullets, small puppy drum, and spots.
Scott and Blake Sheets of Mocksville, NC had a couple of nice bluefish this morning on the beach as well as some small flounder. Meg Floyd of Ocracoke, NC caught a 15 oz croaker yesterday on Fishbites and becomes our new derby leader. Barbara Widdowfield of Bridgewater, VA shared her photo of some great bluefish caught yesterday on finger mullet in the surf. Carson Herndon of Salisbury went out on the private boat "Miss Louise" this past week and shared his photo of a nice looking dolphin.
