FISHING REPORT ARCHIVERating System:Good fishing: Not so good fishing: Don't forget your coastal fishing license! Surf fishing reports slowed yesterday with the grass at the North end of the island but from the campground down to the South end the water was better. Today it has improved as far as the grass, and we have a nice NE breeze to cool us down. We have heard of sea mullets, bluefish, and spot being caught scattered down the beach. There were also a few puppy drum caught towards the South end of the island yesterday. Les Whitten of Baltimore, MD came in this morning with a bluefish caught on finger mullet earlier today. Tom Bahleda of Shenandoah, VA had a 10# king mackerel that he caught while kayaking out from the beach yesterday afternoon. Don Bullis and Ken Myers of Burlington, NC had another nice catch of bluefish. Nelson Adams of Ocracoke, NC had a great flounder inshore yesterday. John Ivey Wells of Ocracoke, NC had a few 2# pompano while fishing inshore yesterday as well. Have fun fishing! Melinda Rating: |
