Surf fishing reports are really windy for those brave enough to try. The winds are blowing about 35-40 mph and gusting higher - the ferries are not running at either end of the island - so you are here! Alan and a couple of others reported dog sharks and skates.
Kent Kepley of Lexington, NC had a nice 47" red drum yesterday. Richard Casteen of LaGrange, NC had a 9# bluefish yesterday. Alan had a 28" puppy drum yesterday caught on cut mullet at the north end of the island. Jim Braack of Wilmington, DE had a nice 7# 13oz Bluefish yesterday as well. Jeno Cassette of Wilson, Nc had a citation red drum of 47" last night.
The winds are expected to blow through tonight up to 60 mph so the fishing report might be limited until Tuesday or Wednesday. Thanks to all of you- even the lurkers- who came by the store during the tournament- we really love your comments and getting to put a name to a face.
At least we can think about fishing!
