FISHING REPORT ARCHIVERating System:
Not so good fishing:
Surf fishing has been slow the last couple of days - weather yesterday made it difficult for people to get much fishing in as we had some strong storms blow through the area. We have gotten reports of spots, sea mullets, pompano, bluefish, and flounder being landed in the surf.
Inshore anglers are still finding flounder, drum, and trout, as well as a few spanish and blues.
Offshore charters are finding dolphin and wahoo. Capt Norman Miller took a group out for bottom fishing on the Rascal. John and Hunter Bianco from Hampstead MD, along with Arnis Zagaris from Spry PA, caught grouper, snappers, and trigger fish.
South Point area has remained closed to surf fishing yesterday and today. Biologists were unable to locate the remaining piping plover chick yesterday morning due to the severe storms, and they have been unable to locate the chick yesterday or today. NPS officials suspect that the chick may have been lost due to predation. We hope to know more about access to the area by tomorrow morning.
Have fun fishing.
