From the surf - bluefish, spanish mackerel, flounder, sea mullet, pompano, spot and croaker. We have a new Derby Leader, Cindy Johnston from Greenville, NC with a 2 lb. sea mullet...sorry Andrew.
From the sound/inlet - the same as the surf with the exception of red drum, gray and speckled trout. Scott Mooneyham from Fayetteville, NC went with Capt. Ernie Doshier on the "Drum Runner" Thursday and caught 9 drum, 6 were citations. Nice day!
Offshore - Dolphin, wahoo, king mackerel and at least 1 released sailfish by Matthew Woodworth while fishing on a private boat owned by Dennis Powell. That's about all we have right now. We've been holding our breath and keeping our finger's crossed that Irene will make that projected turn away from our coast. So far so good. Have a great day and keep fishing!
