FISHING REPORT ARCHIVERating System:Good fishing: Not so good fishing: We have had reports of scattered bluefish, a couple of puppy drum, and a few sea mullets. Linda Rippe, of Ocracoke, NC, and Ray Buck from New Bern, NC, did well with the sea mullets yesterday. They reported 16 keepers along with a couple of smaller ones and small blues. Pictured above is Frank Shultz from Fairbanks, Alaska with a nice gray trout. Frank is fishing this week with Ken Panacek and friends. They have done well with trout and other inshore fishing. Ken operates a charter service in Nantucket, MA, and Ken's website is www.kencatchcharters.com. Capt James Winch took a charter offshore yesterday on the Restless. The marina reported in that the Restless catch included 10 yellowfin tuna and 3 kings. The great fishing took place before the front moved in and the seas roughened. NE winds picked up yesterday evening and a line of showers moved through the area. While we need the rain, the wind and conditions did little for our surf fishing. Conditions are forecasted to improve this afternoon and through the week. Have fun fishing. Alan Rating: |
