FISHING REPORT ARCHIVERating System:
Not so good fishing:
It was a good thing the internet service for Ocracoke was down this morning because it allowed Bob and me to gather a little more information for a fishing report. We both knew there were pompano, spanish mackerel, bluefish, sea mullet and gray trout because we both caught them yesterday. We also know that Phil Hazeltine from Arlington, VA caught a citation 2-3/4 lb. pompano...what a beauty! Also, Lloyd & Joye Sammons from Georgetown, DE; Andy & Heidi Dillon from Wilmington, NC all caught 7 puppy drum up to 31". We're hearing alot more of the puppies showing up and giving the angler's a great time. Flounder, croaker and spot rounded out the fishing report from the surf. So far this morning we've heard of spanish mackerel and bluefish being caught from the south end of the island.
We also got a great sound fishing report for flounder reported by Joe Ridge from Thomasville, NC and Chris England from High Point. They have caught 33 nice size flounder ranging from 16 to 17"...Gray trout, spanish mackerel and bluefish were also reported by others.
Offshore reported dolphin and wahoo.
Another great day to look forward to. Have a great day and keep fishing!
