Fishing Report ArchiveRating System:Good fishing: Not so good fishing: From the surf fishing seems to have slowed down just a bit. We've had a mixed bag of bluefish, sea mullet, flounder, croaker, spot, gray trout, and spanish mackerel hitting anywhere from our north end to the south end of the island. We had a few of the big blues still hanging around as proved by a couple fishermen from Missouri catching 9 pounders and Dianne King from Clayton, NC coming in with a 11-3/4 lb. bluefish. Way to go! Sound fishing, also a little slower but there are a few cobia showing up each day. Russel Williams of Ocracoke came in with a 32 lb. cobia. Other than cobia there were some spanish mackerel, gray trout, speckled trout and flounder. Dean Smith from Newport, NC came in with a citation 7 lb. speckled trout. Offshore reporting dolphin, wahoo, king mackerel, tuna, triggerfish, black sea bass and some snappers. Have a great day and keep fishing! Rating: |
