Fishing Report ArchiveRating System:Good fishing: Not so good fishing: Based on the number of pictures we've been taking at the shop I'd say fishing was going well. There have been lots of springtime bluefish in the 8 to 11 lb. range. There have also been gray trout, sea mullet, flounder, black drum and even sheepshead caught from the surf. Both ends of the island as well as inbetween have been successful. There have been a few large red drum landed at night for those who ventured to fish then. Some of the angler's were Jeff Mitchell from Virginia Beach, VA with a 8 lb. bluefish, Mike Greene from Concord, NC with a 10 1/2 lb. bluefish, Hugh Schultz from Sutton, VT with a 8 lb. bluefish, Joe Barvir from Greensboro, NC with a 8 1/2 lb. bluefish, Robert Simard from Sconset, MA with a 11 lb. bluefish, Danny Taylor from Myrtle Beach, SC with a 8 lb. bluefish, Jack Griffith from Raleigh, NC and Casey Griffith from Fayetteville, NC with a 9 and 8 1/4 lb. bluefish, Marc Boettger from Greenville, NC with a 8 1/2 lb. bluefish, Linda Mauck & Dennis Newton from Fredericksburg, VA with 7 sheepshead, 1 black drum and a 9 1/2 lb. bluefish. From the sound they are catching bluefish, gray trout, flounder and a few puppy drum. Offshore reports have been yellowfin tuna, wahoo, king mackerel and dolphin. Wreck fishing has been producing triggerfish, black sea bass, grouper and snapper. That's all for now. Have a great day and keep fishing! Rating: |
