Fishing conditions on Ocracoke are great, however, we can count the number of groups fishing on one hand. We've had bluefish, puppy drum, stripers, flounder, sea mullet, puffers and of course sharks and skates. Artie Behne from Virginia Beach, VA caught a 42" striper while fishing at the Federal Campground ramp 2:30 p.m...Tommy Hollar from China Grove, NC caught a 41" striper today 7:20 a.m. at the south end of the island.
Sound fishing - red drum, bluefish, flounder, gray and speckled trout. Tom Atherton from Ocracoke caught a citation 4 lb. speckled trout and 2 others that were 20" in his "secret" fishing spot.
Offshore - The only report we're getting is from Dave Nagel of the charter boat "Drum Stick" who has been catching lots of king mackerel.
