Fishing Report ArchiveRating System:Good fishing: Not so good fishing: Fall fishing sure is exciting! We've been very busy at the store just filling orders of bait and tackle. That mixed with time out to take pictures of happy anglers really does get ya going. I know, not everyone is catching fish but the ones that do sure wear a great smile. The others keep a hopeful wish that their turn comes. From the surf we've had numerous large flounder including citation ones caught from both the north and south ends of the island. Bob was one of the anglers who came back with 2 citation size flounder weighing in at 5 lbs. and 5 lbs. 2 oz. flounder caught off the north end of the island. Tim Donahue from China Grove, NC and David Christy from Kannapolis, NC both came in with 4 3/4 lb. flounder (almost citation) while fishing at the north end as well. William Foster from Va. Beach, VA and his brother Kenneth Foster from Fife, Scotland caught a citation 5 lb. flounder and an 8 lb. puppy drum while fishing the south end of the island. They can be seen on "Surf Catch of the Week"...Susan & Ryan Harrell from Greensboro, NC caught a 6 lb. puppy drum, Thad Scronce from Hickory, NC caught a 24" puppy drum, Mike Neaves from Elkin, NC caught a 8 3/4 lb. puppy drum, Cody Barnes from Benson, NC caught a 4 3/4 lb. flounder and Eric Longo from Fayetteville, NC gigged a 8 1/2 lb. flounder from the north end of the island. As you can see, we've been busy taking pictures and gathering reports of some fine fishing. Besides drum and flounder there have been lots of bluefish, sea mullet, puffers, gray trout, spot and croaker. Not bad fishing at all. From the sound the fishing also continues to be good for gray trout, flounder, large spot, croaker, red drum and a few speckled trout. Offshore fishing and wreck fishing has been producing wahoo, dolphin, amberjacks, triggerfish, vermillion snappers, black sea bass and bluefish... That's all for now...Have a great evening and keep fishing! Rating: |
